A year ago, I wrote a proposed city ordinance banning tricycles in Baguio, finally the ordinance was passed.

Here is what the city sites says:

Due to Baguio’s terrain and  increasing number of accidents caused by motorcycles, driving and using tricycles in the City  is prohibited at all times.  Ordinance No. 28, series of 2012 defines a tricycle as a motorcycle with an attached sidecar.

Penalties for violation of this ordinance are:  1st offense- P500.00 and warning

2^nd offense – P1,000.00, impounding  of tricycle or  30 days imprisonment

3^rd offense – P3,000.00 or imprisonment of 60 days or both at the discretion of the court
